Hello, I just got a free HP nc4400 laptop and I want to upgrade the memory. It currently has 1GB of Samsung DDR2 667 MHz memory, the product number is M470T2953EZ3-CE6. I am wondering whether or not the existing memory will run in dual channel if I get another stick of the exact same type, or if I should get a dual channel kit of memory instead.

    Thank you.

You can get any another stick of DDR2-667 meory and it will work in dual channel. If the size isn't the same, it will run in asymmetric mode (ie. if you get a 2GB stick).
