    Hi all,

I'm posting in this forum because i trust the efficiency of people here more than other forums.

My problem started when i first edited the SPD in the EEPROM of a 1066Mhz HyperX module from 5-5-5-15(non-JEDEC) timings to 6-6-6-20(e-JEDEC). I edited it because there was an incompatibility with the 1.02.16 BIOS of my Clevo M860TU. Now with the new released 1.02.17 BIOS, it's compatible with the 5-5-5-15(non-JEDEC) timings so i wanted to restore my original SPD.

The problem is that the EEPROM as if it becomes suddenly READ-ONLY. I tried Thaiphoon which i had used when i had edited the SPD for the first time, it tells me nothing, as if it was edited successfully, but when reading the SPD informations again, nothing have been edited. I tried also SPDtool, it tells that some addresses (the ones that i have edited) haven't been edited.

Note : yes, i had deactivated the Windows Digital Signature for drivers to enforce the driver of Thaiphoon if you ask me , and yes i restarted my computer before reading again the SPD information to be sure that the new SPD should be loaded. I tried again and again but nothing happened......

If any one can help me, i would be very thankful especially that i can't ask Kingston for an RMA because modifying the EEPROM of your memory module kills your Kingston life warranty.

    Please help.......

In other applications, I have seen eeproms that were factory wired/designed to accept only a few write cycles before they lock themselves down.
