Just to let you know
This is illegal if you buy a manufacturing sample form ebay.
Just wanted that to be said... -
Great idea!
I have S48GP with 2GHz centrino.
Can I install Core Duo or Core Duo2 on my notebook same yours? -
No, you can't upgrade from Pentium M. You can only upgrade from Core Duo to Core 2 Duo.

How does one going about transplanting processors?
Its not like sticking some RAM into your notebook... -
how does it work with 64bit apps

Actually it is like swapping RAM, just takes a little more work. Just about all PCs these days do not have the CPU soldered onto the motherboard.
That being the case, getting access to the CPU varies from laptop to laptop. For the SZ series, which geng789 has, its easily accessible from the bottom of the laptop. All he had to do was take out 4 screws and then an additional 2 for the CPU heatsink assembly, after that the CPU could be removed and the replacement installed.
I've replaced my stock CPU with a faster CPU -

Oh right, I was under the impression that even though the Core Duos are socketed, it wasn't an easy task.
What tools do you need? A set of very small screwdrivers? Electrostatic wristband thing? Guts and an expired warranty? -
well you tell us
i mean download 64 bit windows xp beta.
