Ok, i have been reading all i can about laptops, and i came across something interesting.
I heard it in the forums at first, but i wasnt sure, so i researched.
Will Merom use the same platform as Yonah?
Check this link, at very bottom:
http://www.intel.com/technology/architecture/coremicro/
"The Merom processor will work within the Intel® Centrino Duo® mobile technology-based platform and Merom is targeted for introduction to align with the 2006 holiday buying season."
Thanks for any help,
William

It should work, but it will really shine when the new platform comes out in early 2007.

Well, its either i wait for turion x2, or get a Yonah now, and upgrade to merom later. I wuold go with merom unless you think otherwise.

if you can wait, i think you should. just b/c no one really knows how the turion will perform. and it would be nice to get a dual core 64-bit without having to void your warranty.

I planned to get intel core solo instead, to save bit cash and upgrade a good merom cpu
