I'm not sure too many people would be into this, but I wanted to consider a wireless track mouse. I used them in the past for gaming and they are okay. The main advantage for me is mobile gaming if you can't find a convenient place for a mouse. Lately I've been using a wireless mouse on my couch =D
I'm trying it out to see if it will work. The price is right at $26

So far it seems okay, but I don't yet have the machine to really test it out withMy main concern is that the scroll wheel feels really bad. It might loosen up, but it seems chunky (big scroll steps - that might be tunable) and it feels like it's scraping against something when I use it.
You guys might laugh, but I actually like the Logitech M557 Bluetooth mouse, though I only use it for light gaming. It works fine and I don't lose a USB port to YAUD (yet another USB dongle).

BTW, if the M570 (and M557) don't work for me, would the next best option for a wireless gaming mouse be the G602? FWIW, the Amazon reviews seem generally positive.

G602 should do a good job for you. I like BT mice. I have a Dell BT Travel mouse, a large Dell BT mouse and keyboard combo, and did have an Orochi (which died a year or two ago). The only complaint I have had with BT is the mouse (or keyboard) sometimes goes to sleep to save power and stops working for a few seconds if there is no activity. That is very annoying to me. As long as you are constantly using them so they don't take a nap, they're really great. I like not having to plug in anything to a USB port.
If you use the BT peripherals on more than one computer that can be frustrating as well. Having to unpair, delete, scan for new devices and pair again is a pain in the butt. I stopped using the BT input devices on multiple computers because it was so inconvenient.
I use a wireless mouse in my recliner. I have a hard mousepad on the arm of it and that works really great.Last edited: Oct 20, 2016FredSRichardson and Georgel like this. -

So far I would say that it is a very nice device - very responsive and the mousewheel isn't terrible - but I've been playing kotor2 (runs on my ultrabook) and that is a very low bar. I'll see if I can find something more interesting

I really like my trackball mouse. Not sure I could appreciate a mouse > $50 - my skillz don't go that high.

So... I finally managed to return my razer Ouroboros - it was a nightmare in here - had to do a LOT to get it taken back by the store. I had flex on right clock, flex on both sides, flex on back. Never again buying from them.
I only wish Mad Catz were as good as they feel and look - those are pretty much the perfect mice money can buy - but their durability is not best. I would probably buy one again - if they would improve them - (had 3 in the past).
My most probably next mouse is... hm... G502 or G602 - the scroll wheel seems so much better on G602 - albeit the clicks seem worse and I fear low performance wireless mode or low performance in general. Also A4Tech R80 is on my list, but I had an A4Tech mouse disconnecting from wifi interference.
Which one would you see as better?
I want a wireless mouse (preferably), scroll click and wheel is extremely important, clicks are important, batteries must be replaceable if it's wireless. -
Please don't kill me for asking this, but if I actually enjoy Clevo P775 keyboard feeling, but really hate the layout, what keyboard would fit me? There are sooooo many different models!
Also, back to my mouse question I can get G502 for a 50$ or G602 for 65, if price is a question.. -
Right mouse click starting to fail already after 6 months on my G602. Dammit.
Best part is their website takes me to blank pages when trying to a warranty claim, plus no contact number to boot... sigh... Gotta love how customer service these days basically involves customers wasting hours simply trying to establish contact.tilleroftheearth, bloodhawk and Georgel like this. -

Warranty (to me) means nothing (because of the issues TBoneSan is running into...).
I want to buy from a local store, full return policy and with plenty of replacement 'stock' of same item at the lowest possible price (to keep us both in business).
I don't deal with manufacturers (mostly...). I deal with whomever I hand over my $$$$ to.jclausius likes this. -
I should avoid it then. No idea what mouse to get - probably an G502 or something - even though it seems problematic as well...
If only those A4tech wireless mice didn't had any problems with their signal or if only Mad Catz were better lasting in timeTBoneSan likes this. -

Argh - I wish getting a mouse was an easier decision - it's already pretty painful to keep using my beaten up A4tech x7 - and I fear I might make a mistake with both G602 and G502. I am the type who abuses scroll wheel - both in turning it and clicking it - and I have a pretty abusive usage of mouse in general when I play games
Need something that'll hold up to my usage patterns. G502 seems to have a lot of wiggle on scrool wheel - and I would hate that - while G602 seems to be a hit or miss thing - when you get one that lasts years - or one that breaks within months. -

Great discussion! Incidentally I have also been hunting for a mouse for my desk. While I started with searching for a wireless mouse, I settled on the G900 but it's too expensive.
I'm currently eyeing the Mionix Castor. It's wired, but it looks very comfortable, and apparently is one of the better mice out there. While they do provide a customization software, it works OOTB just fine. It has RGB lighting but other than that it's not too outlandish. Has anyone had experience with one of these? -

G810 and G910 aren't available in Romania, but G810 looks nice and kinda like my type of keyboard. The keys seem obscenely tall, but I really need a silent and fast working keyboard. All of my favourite keyboards so far are and were slim - but I tried the Razer slim keyboards (the expensive ones) and they sucked reaaaaally bad. All of them made a dubious clicky sound, and were really bad to the touch, when they clicked, it was almost like they mushed out the key press on the bottom. And I tested 10 of them, both normal and slim, all of them presented this problem...
A 30$ membrane slim keyboard works better from that perspective... -

The MX Revolution was an open box as well
I'm not saying that I don't believe you, I knew back then as well. I just took my chances and was/am still happy. I'm not trying to make advertising, but since I found this eBay store for used/open box Logitech stuff, I check it regularly.

Open box is great for the gamblers out there (and those that have the time and inclination to fool around with a possibly not working device/component they just bought). If you just need something to work though, sealed/new is the way to go.
There is open box and then there is open box, too. As long as a no charge return/full warranty is offered, why not (though personally, I wouldn't chance through ebay; rather - open box, in-store...) and the $ saved is a bonus.
I've stopped doing that though for a long time and haven't regretted it. Open box items are a headache though (buy enough of them and I soon found out that they weren't a good business decision).Georgel likes this. -
I wish I had the money to buy only off-the-shelf stuff. Granted that sometimes cheaper means more expensive (returns, headaches, time), but other times it is indeed cheaper. It is more complicated than that though. If it's something like that, I shoot, but for an HDD or SSD - new and from respectable seller with warranty. That's just an example, but everyone should decide when to risk it, and when to play it safe. My grandma always said - "If you can buy peace of mind, do it". Buying new stuff usually means just that, but it is not always the case lately, so...

I found this to be true.
I had bought 3 open box products in my life, all three were major pains for me. Not anymore. I don't have the time to play with products. I don't even know why am I waiting for BF for G602 and Redragon Karura keyboard. Chances are none of those will be on sale or a major sale.

So far I like my surprisingly cheap wirekess track mouse.
However I would love to have a very good mouse at some point. RPGs like witcher3 may not be as demanding on a mouse.
I'm thinking G900 if I can get it on sale (maybe on BF).

I just picked p a Logitech M325 at Best Buy for $8 or $9. They are small enough to take with you in a laptop bag (the BT TX fits in the battery compartment of the mouse) but large enough for everyday use. In fact, I have been using one at work for the last three or four years. I was tempted to buy all the M325s that Best Buy had on the table to give as stocking stuffers. I use one at home as well.

G602 extremely overpriced at 80$ lowest Romania price while g502 is on sale in Romania for about 50$...
I guess I'll just buy one and take it back of I actually don't like it...
Sad thing because j actually wanted wireless, but price constraint is real here. -
I had received the world's most silent keyboard. Redragon Karura...
Well...
The buttons feel strange at first, and I'm slowly getting used to it.
My fingers hitting the keyboard if I miss a button will make more noise than hitting the intended key - so I gotta hand it to them - it is deadly silent.
First time trying a keyboard with palm rest.... Feels good man.
Those keys are something I'm not sure how long will take getting used to but they're not exactly bad. But they are exactly what you would expect out of a totally silent keyboard - almost entirely dampened - o it will feel a bit off after using normal keyboards. Those are 3 to 5 time more silent than P775 keyboard, so really silent...
I'm still waiting on G502 mouse I ordered, but after reading a hand of reviews, I'm already having some seconds thoughts and thinking of going with G602 instead - still curious to try 502. I have a 14 days term to return it if it doesn't work out, so I guess I should at least give it a chance...FredSRichardson and TomJGX like this. -
So while waiting for my mouse to arrive (it's 5 days. This reseller takes 5 days to deliver a single mouse at 1 km distance, in the same city. Man.......... They had a really good discount tho, but still it has been 5 freaking days and it is about the same freaking city, I could had walked and picked it up in this time. Well, the deliver costs are zero and the mouse is 60% of the lowest price found in any other shop but I get no warranty except for the 14 days return rule. Let's hope for the best or I'll have to talk directly with Logitech as the reseller offers no warranty except for Logitech warranty).
Back to what I was saying, I was looking for reviews on G502 and other mice in case I decide to return it. I found two that really made my day a bit brighter.
Both reviews are made by the same person, I'm not affiliated nor I know him, but I thought it would make everyone around here share a few laughts.
[Warning, there is some cursing in the videos, but it's funny, and it's more for the sake of fun than being offensive]
First review is on SeelSeries 700 - which has an LCD panel on the side, for anyone who consults the mouse instead of the screen when in need of an information.
And the second review is on G502 - and I feel most reviews should be like this. It's far more comprehensive and realistic than some reviews where the reviewers received a mouse and had no idea what was that thing or how to open it or how to use it. This feels less like paid advertising and more like a fun video. No informecials like Linus tho. Again some light swearing - but fun and light enough for me to think it's safe to post the videos.

(I'm having really serious second thoughts about buying G502 after reading more about it, but I guess it would be similar with any mouse I would had bought, no?)

I don't care about tracking or anything else. Just comfort. I just want a mouse that is comfortable to my hand! That is it. Of course, wheel, buttons and sensor to work good and build to be best. G502 is my first try with Logitech, G602 might be second try, if it fails, I will just keep using RAT and change at 1 year intervals I guess....tilleroftheearth likes this. -

By the time I've looped around the 50th second thoughts and am at the beginning again, I just have to accept that I've made the best decision (at that time, with the information and the knowledge/experience I've had so far...) that I could.
It is at this point that I really (really!) don't care about the purchase anymore - I will revisit my decision if I get new info to digest.
Same with you below, I guess. Try... and if something new isn't up to snuff, go back to what you know is better for you.
Take care.

Not really a mouse, but have anyone thought of using this thing as a mouse?
It takes some time to get used to but once you get the hang of it, it'll work just as good as a mouse, no scroll though...
But no more RSI! At least for me... I'm using my Wacom as my "mouse" actually, and I've been using it for more than 3 years, and more than 8 hours every day.
