I posted this thread on Windows OS subforum believing this to be an OS problem as my usb ports are functional (they were able to connect, power and transfer files) and that my mice aren't dead as they were able to be powered on and work only after I restart my laptop.

It got to a point where I just gave up and reformatted my system. Turns out that did nothing except make me wipe out all my data. The problem came back and this time it only works when I'm on my usb 3.0 port.

Is there something wrong with my laptop, maybe microsoft mice in general with Windows 7, or what?

I dont know what to do here anymore
