I've got 3 different brands of Mini IDE flash drives that I am evaluating with an XP SP2 installation. The plan is to eventually use these with Embedded XP in our current custom systems. The drives are all 2GB, SLC industrial grade flash memory. Upon installation of XP, I am able to get through the installation folder copying to the point of the reboot, at which all systems hang at the Windows XP screen. I am using a P4 era motherboard with 512MB DDR226. I have set the flash drives to be master and the cd-rom to be slave and vice versa. Any ideas as to why I can't complete the installation of XP?
Thanks

Welcome to nbr,
Is the flash drive recognized by the Bios of your system?
That seems very odd that it would hang like that.
Have you tried letting it sit their for like 5 minutes to see if it loads, or do you just reboot it?

Yes, the BIOS sees the drive and all three parts hang at that point forever.
Thanks. -
