I am thinking of getting a mini pci tv card for my laptop so I can watch telly from it onto my projector but have no idea how it would work. Would it wirelessly catch the tv signal or would I have to plug the laptop physically in via S-video cable or something else?

Any help from experienced tv card users is really appreciated :) Which card is recommended? I believe it uses an MCX connector.

I have an Avermedia M103 MINI PCI tv tuner. Its okay, a bit slow, but it worked. I havent used it in a long time though. I do not know if these tv tuners still work after the digital television switch.

I have heard of other mini pci tv tuners. Orion made a few, and I know there were a few other brands, I just cant think of them off the top of my head.

The one I had, had a antenna which ran up into the screen, and like a 11 pin or so cable which ran to the coaxial input on the motherboard.

Mini PCI-e TV Tuner uses Micro MCX (MMCX) connector for antenna connection just as other mini PCI-e cards which need to be connected to antenna, such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G/WWAN cards. Do you mean to say that your laptop already has this kind of TV antenna connector?
