    Hi everybody,

I'm an avid gamer and love high end video graphics. About a year ago I bought a gaming laptop from MSI, GX720 (Intentionally not the most expensive one and also specs wise). Even at the beginning I wasn't to impressed with the performance of the GPU (Nvidia 9600m GT, 500mb GDDR 3)

I know for a fact that this model (MS-1722 ID2) is mxm upgradable. Could you please give some advice what my upgrade options are. Is the ATI mobiliy HD4650 (1GB, GDDR 2) an upgrade over my gpu? thanks for all advice.

You could upgrade to even better cards that are type III if you use the GT725 heatsink (I think).

A MR4850 or GTS 160M should work without any problems.

You could try a 75W nvidia GPU (like I did), but it probably wont overclock well because your slot doesn't have the HE tab to provide more power.
