I wish to know the harddisk warranty policy because my current harddisk is experiencing SMART failure.
My laptop has only 1 year warranty which has expired however Western Digital states their 2.5" Harddisk has 3 year warranty.
However when I keyed in my HD serial for warranty checking it says to refer to OEM (Acer).
Is it possible to get the harddisk replaced by Western Digital Warranty or do I have to buy a new one for replacement?

What country are you in Weinter?

In Europe Acer is required to give two years warranty by law.
