Hello
I am searching for detailed info about this chipset but I cannot find how many disks this chipset supports in RAID 0 up to
I need to know max ..
Thnx
-
HM87 can support up to 6 SATA ports. So in theory, up to 6 drives can be put into RAID 0, provided the motherboard has 6 SATA ports on it. But you won't get that in any laptop. Most support for disks in a laptop will be 3 (4 if you swap the hard drive for an optical drive).

Yes I am planning buy msi gs 70 which has it..
Pleeease laptops doesnt have ancient cd drive anymore these days... -
What nonsence.. Plenty of laptops have CD drives...
-
Agreed.
It might be more accurate/fair to say [most thin and light] "laptops doesnt have ancient cd drive anymore these days..." -
old laptops.. such useles ancient thing from 1990 .. jesus these days is dominating flash dries and files on SSDs !
-
Exactly ...
that is where it should move forward ! -
Incorrect. Most standard sized laptops will still come with an optical drive (including MSI's). Only the 11" and 13" models have optical drives omitted from the design.
-
Yup all aw series from the 17 up have optical , I can't remember if the 14 gas it as well though
-
Yup. The M14x and M15x had, and the newer 14 has an ODD as well.
The newer MBPs do not have the drives included anymore. They sell the ODDs as a separate thunderbolt accessory. -
Nooo mine 15" no cd crive .. planning msi gs70 17" no cd drive ..
-
Nonsense... read internet guyyys
http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GS70-2QE-Stealth-Pro-Silver-Edition.html#hero-overview -
Yours is an Ultrabook, not a standard-sized laptop. You just proved his point.
Maybe you should read? They all have ODD's, including the AW14, which has a slot loading one. -
Well guys u talking about crap tacky cd drive and NOT to the topic !!!
So focus to the topic kids .. ;-) -
No need to be mean about it. But I reiterate my original point. Most standard sized laptops will still come with the optical drive.
MSI GT60 is one of them. Some (like the ultrabooks and Macbooks) have already begun to move away from including them in the design.
But, as we move more and more into the future, there will be fewer systems with an optical drive built in. -
Man please stop it already am not BOTHERED am BOTHERED what I asked in first post !
If you dont know dont post here..
