Hi guys,
Need some advice on power supply upgrading
I started with a Medion Erazer X6819 (MS-16F2 modelled on MSI GT683DXR)
I changed out the GTX570m 1.5gb ------> GTX970m 6GB
I was convinced it was bottlenecking with the i7 2670QM so I changed that too for 2860QM
Changed the 4Gb 1333mhz RAM ------> 16gb 1600Mhz Corsair Vengeance (with unlocked 50e bios)
Changed the Intel Wireless card for a better Intel Centrino Adv. N6235
80GB SSD for -------> Samsung 850 Evo 500gb
500gb HD for ------> Seagate SSHD 1TB
All this was powered by 180W Delta ADP-180HB B Power Supply - 19V 9.5A
Since then I have realised that my laptop was Power Throttling - I have since turned off CPU Turbo and that has helped a little but my 970m is still power throttling in GPUz now and again while gaming and causing frame drops, sometimes as low as 15-20 fps
I have done a lot of searching and ordered a power supply last night - Delta 230W 19.5V 11.8A
I have read that 0.5V difference shouldn't be an issue - can anyone confirm this???
Also - my Bios are Modded/Unlocked
Do any of you know if I will have to alter anything in my bios? ie, TDC (factory limit in Amps) and TDP (Factory limit in Watts) ? These are unlocked and currently set at 0 - Factory Default
Has anyone ever changed these settings for this reason and what are the icrements?
I've also bought some Noctua NT-H1 Hybrid Thermal Paste and 1mm Fujipoly Extreme X-e thermal pads and a Havit 3 fan Laptop Cooler to help with the temps if the extra power causes heat issues

Hello,
A new Power supply won't be enough, since your bottleneck is caused by the EC and not by the Power supply itself. You need to crossflash, I had this exact same issue on a Medion Erazer X6823 (GT60 0nc) model.
If you need the correct version go to https://forum-en.msi.com/ and search for a guy named "svet". Tell him you need to crossflash.
This is the result of the medion: https://www.3dmark.com/fs/14264159 -
