Im currently looking at two panels but they both seem like cheap TN LCD monitors... im looking at the...

    Samsung 2494SW
    Samsung 2343BWX

all i can see different is that one is an inch bigger and costs $20 more for that one inch... other then that it looks to me they are both very similar, im leaning towards the 2494SW simply for the 1920*1080 native resolution since the 2343BWX has an oddball one 2048*1152... if i set the 2343BWX to 1920*1080 would it be as sharp as if it were set to the native?

    thanks!

No, it will be interpolated and your eyes will definitely suffer from the blurry output.

However, it is the same aspect ratio as the 1920x1080 model so you are only gaining resolution with the 2048x1152 model which, if they're the same physical size, will make it look much sharper.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers!

I would say that you would only really need the 2048 x 1152 if you are doing heavy photo editing, and CAD. That's GENERALLY what that sort of resoluton is aimed at.

Yes, 2048X1152 are photo editing resolution (and you typically pay a premium price for this higher resolution and color range).

Also consider 24" 1920*1200. The extra pixels in vertical resolution come in very handy for almost every website.
