So I was wondering in new laptops, say Thinkpads, how the video signal is sent from board to laptop screen. Is it VGA, DVI, or something else all together? Because the only output those have is VGA, but I hope the main screen gets a better quality signal than that

LVDS. It is a digital signal. Thinkpads can output DVI if you have a dock.
