I have a 1920x1200 24' monitor that i use connected to my dell xps laptop which is my primary monitor. I was curious how it would look on a 1920x1080 24' monitor.
Now if i use say a samsung 32' hdtv that is also 1080p or 1920x1080 resolution... would it look pretty much like that of a 24' computer monitor with the same 1920x1080 resolution? I ask this because i don't have a 24' monitor with 1920x1080 resolution.

You'll miss 120 vertical pixels of screen real estate, that's all. The aspect ratio change is handled by everything on the fly.
16:9 videos will lose letterboxing, some games may run slightly faster by having less pixels to render but meh, single digit % improvement if any.
Many TVs have lower frame rates (24/30Hz) than PC monitors (60/100/120/144Hz) and slower transition times (visible ghosting if really bad) and are not as good for displaying rapid motion, and cheap ones also suffer bad input lag (click to bang delay). It depends on the panel, the image processors driving it, and any hacks or filters applied.Arrrrbol likes this.
