So there's been a lot of talk about the Intel Montevina chip but nobody seems to be offering it and it seems like the chip made the news months ago...WHAT GIVES??? I want to buy a Dell notebook asap, but want to wait for the Montevina!

Everyone but Apple and Dell are offering montevina based laptops. Even then, Dell is offering it in their business line of Precision and Latitude models.

Just for your information, Montevina isn't a chip. It's the codename for Centrino 2, Intel's new chipset+CPU+Wifi-card menage-a-trois.

No one knows when Dell will start selling Centrino 2 consumer laptops. Late September possibly.
