    I think it's called Cantiga:
    Intel Mobile 45 Express Chipset, RAM support for DDR3-800, 1066 MT/s front side bus, Robson 2.

    With Intel having only recently launched its Santa Rosa Refresh platform-based notebook CPUs on January 6, the planned launch of Montevina in May has lead notebook makers to be cautious over their purchasing of Santa Rosa Refresh CPUs to prevent overstock during the platform transition, added the sources.

    Seems you're lucky ;)

    I think there will always be a celeron as the low end model for each generation of Intel processors.

    yeah, it looks like that's going to be the case. a bit of a failure market-wise though since intel's pretty much telling its consumers what cpu not to get :rolleyes:

    The sooner the better. Sorry Fade to Black, but I NEED a notebook for school. I've been waiting to buy my first notebook for a couple years now ever since the Penryn processors were announced well before Santa Rosa. It seems like it would be a waste of money to buy a notebook with a Penryn now when they haven't released the chipset to make use of the new Penryn technology. So I will sit and wait some more....<sigh>

    The new naming scheme just makes things that much more confusing, and thus, that much more annoying.

    I'd actually put Montevina at Q3 '08. It just makes sooooo much more sense that way. I mean, February is when Penryn gets into the updated Santa Rosa machines; May is too soon to completely replace it. It seems more logical for them to go with a release date in July or August.

    The release of the Penryn processors is hardly a Santa Rosa refresh. All they are doing is offering you an option to upgrade notebook configurations to the new processor for an extra $100+. They are not replacing or discontinuing anything. Nothing is being updated. And the current motherboards don't even run at the CPUs 800Mhz FSB. The chipset is outdated.

    I would like to see a roadmap from Intel,but great found rahul.

    I hope that Intel don't wait as it did with the Core 2 Duo that was released at 2006 and Core 2 Duo ULV at 2007.

    Montevina should be released on May, hope we don't have to wait another year for the ULV.

    Hopefully around June or July. :)

    Your right, history has shown that the ULV versions have come out months later than their bigger cousins but this time, it seems to suggest Intel will launch all the Montevina processors in May. I would be surprised if they do, I hope they do!

    Lol exetlaios, from where did you take this phrase? Nice one!

    Hope you guys are right about the Montevina Low Power released date, because I'm waiting to buy an ultraportable for quite a bit.
    The advantages of this platform against the old Napa is remarkable no?
    In terms of battery life, heat..etc

    Why Montevina will be the best Core 2 Duo platform ever:

    * Low power usage Penryn chips
    * Smaller motherboard allows notebooks to be up to 25% smaller than current notebooks
    * WiMax
    * Ability to view HD DVD or Blu-ray without a dedicated video card
    * Robson 2.0 (2nd version ofTurbo memory)
    * DDR3 Ram
    * 3 versions of Intel GMA X4500 (intergrated graphics)
    * Intel's line of SSD's
