    Hi all,

Is it true that more ram installed will cause longer battery life as it reduces the use of HD?

I'm deciding on upgrading to 1GB or 2GB now, but mostly what i do is emailing and surfing. I know this is not worth the money, but what i still want to know is if it will really make no difference or small difference in term of speed/performace? I mean let's put the money aside for now.

    Thanks.

I find that 512MB is enough for office type work and internet. If you do photo editing, programming, or gaming then 1GB is advisable.

As for power consumption each module consumes almost the same amount of power irrelevant of density (capacity). But ya if you decrease swapping you might get better battery life but that will be negligible to unnoticable.

Yes, more memory means the computer has to access the hard drive's virtual page file less frequently. 1 GB is the max recommended, because anything above that will start siphoning off power.
