    Sanyo vs. LG batteries

With respect to Thinkpads and probably other laptops you can get the same parts made by different manufacturers, and usually one of the manufacturers produces a higher quality part, right? Does one of these manufacturers produce a better performing or longer lasting (charge cycles) battery in your opinion or factually?

    Design voltage

I have a 4-cell LG battery with a design voltage of 14.4 volts. I will be receiving in the mail a Sanyo 6-cell battery with a design voltage of 10.8 volts. The battery model is a compatible 6-cell for the 14" WS T61. Why does the larger 6-cell use less volts?
