Hi everyone, me again with another compatibility issue....

My laptop (the one specs are in my signature) is finally dead, and investigating I find out that was a motherboard failure, so I decided to try and repair it.

I've found this one on Amazon
    Amazon.com : Toshiba Satellite L305 Intel Motherboard V000138360 6050A2170401 : Computer Motherboards : Computers & Accessories

But I'm not sure if it compatible with my A205-S5804, I know the pins are not on the same position, the ones for the monitor and so, but that's not too important, because I will mange to put them into place somehow. The important thing is to have the same conections, regardless the place (the HDD, DVD connectors, CPU, and express card seem to be ok, so monitor and power are the only ones important.

If someone could check this, or already know it, I will appreciate it very much.

Only the same motherboard will fit the older case not something new A204 isn't the same as L305 those are different designs and architecture. Your better off with getting a new laptop since you old one has not taken a dump on you. What your doing is throwing away good money after bady money. Just get a new laptop and start fresh.

thanks for the reply, but it seems the differences to fit in the case are little, even i could make it fit with ease; another thing to say is that I don't run on battery, only on DC power, that's why I was asking for the connections, to the screen, wifi card, and so.... and the price on the links to amazon are more affordable than a hole laptop (at this time i am not able to buy a new one), that's why I am looking for a temporal replacement...

please if someone knows thanks in advance :D

you can get a refurbished (read: functional) A205-S5804 from amazon for $150. you'd be better off saving your $50 and purchasing the refurb once you're able to triple your money -- which is also a really bad idea and an unsound investment.

I would find it enormously simpler to buy a correct motherboard that's a drop-in replacement.
Free hint: usually mainboard type sticker is under/near ram slots. Check there.
