    Hi all,
I'm new to this, I would like to know what motherboard dwells in my Asus L3tp laptop. It is nearly three years old and runs perfectly. I would like to upgrade the motherboard and processer if possible. So if anyone could tell me, not the exact board but what motherboards Asus put in L3 computers I'd be happy, Thanking you all for your help, John.

I dont think there is any real chance of upgrading the MB other than replacing it with one specifically designed for the L3. Almost all laptop MB's are custom built by manufacturers to fit their specific laptop so replacing it with aftermarket ones would be quite impossible. Anyways you can run CPU-Z . It will(in some cases) list the motherboard manufacturer & also the processor spec.

The chances of upgrading the processor might be brighter, if the processor is not soldered onto the motherboard.

    Hello all,
Sorry I have not been back here sooner but thank you Miner for your reply and that link to cpu-z-130. I downloaded the file and ran it and was suprised by learning the front side bus speed was 100mhz so I think I will leave it alone and look to getting a replacement laptop when the two cpu models come out. Thank you for all contributing in this forum. I have learned things about notebooks and how to make them perform better I had never dreamed of. Thank you again and keep up the good work.

Sorry, I have read that report file wrong about the FSB. I see on ASUS site concerning the L3T/p It has a 400mhz cpu. Now this might have nothing to do with the FSB at all but in the machines defence it still goes along nicely, and if my thoughts are wrong please put me right. Thanks.

Intel FSB's are quad pumped, you still have 400MHz FSB(100X4).
