    Hello everyone!

Since quite a while there are multi-touch panel laptops out there. And there are DIY kits for external upgrades out there too. What is not out there - at least I couldn't find it - are "complete" (display + capacitive touch panel) panels.

Doesn't such exist, cause they wouldn't fit into existing laptops (thickness, missing controller, because of their multi-component nature) or are they about to appear? And would Clevo resellers be able to offer them as an upgrade?

For the DIY external panel? Does it work well? I imagine brightness and colors do suffer a lot.

I ask just out of curiosity and since I couldn't find adequate information about it.

The problem is with touch screens is additional connectors are missing on the motherboard to support the touch input/digitizer, so you can't just slap in any old touchscreen. The only thing I might suggest is looking for a model that has an option for a touch screen, usually those motherboards will still include the connectors for the touch screen, but at that point the upgrade becomes much more than buying that laptop outright with the touchscreen already shipping with it. Case in point, if you want a touch screen laptop, buy it up front.
