Has anyone ever toyed with the idea of multi-core "gameing cards," a GPU with extra processing components to handle things like AI and Physics??? From what my friend (a computer science major) tells me, one of the most difficult things about putting AI in games is that there is no hardware acceleration for AI.
I know that one of the advantages of multi-core processors like the ones found in the Xbox3600 (3 cores) and the PS3 (7 cores) is that the extra cores can handle the extras like AI and Physics, but what about those of us who don't have multi-core processors???
Eh well i hope (but doubt) that intel makes a dual core that I can use to replace the P4 EM64T in the z81sp. Sigh.
