This is a link to the product for sale.
I own the 1 tb version.
It uses 16nm micron nand and am controller like a bx100
But not a slc cache or micron firmware.
That's what it is its planar Mic 2tb ssd. Cheaper than the samnsung 850 2 tb evo already.

Good, prices finally dropping. Not the fastest drive, but not everyone needs 2GB/sec transfers. If this goes on sale for $400 I'l buy one.
-
Chances are the 850 2TB will drop significantly in price once Samsung launches the 4TB later this year. That's what happened with the 1TB when the 2TB launched.
Looking forward to even more competition and lower prices on SSDs -
I think this is the end of the line for this technology or close to it

I have to correct one thing. my 1 tb reactor is a mlc drive. Im not sure the 2tb reactor is. Not sure the controller or anything
its for sale right now only from new egg.
and also even though they cantfit more nand on the board aparently they can fit two boards in the case and they already have a 4 tb version coming out soon
and it is the same silicon motion controller as mine. -
4tb ssd for 500 i would buy.TomJGX likes this. -

Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
@stamar it's 2x 1TB drives in RAID 0 managed by JMS562, according to your link. Unless it's some sick joke, the drive is not very good.
I checked Mushkin website. It is indeed 2x1TB drives in single enclosure, with RAID 0 managed by JMS562. No TRIM on JMS562 last time I checked, and I'm not sure how will overprovision work in such setup.Last edited: Mar 20, 2016 -
My data ism't worth risking in RAID 0..Ashtrix and Starlight5 like this. -
But 4TB is a JBOD array, which is just fine. I would love this one for mass storage of my games, ISO's, videos, and music and general data storage.

@HTWingNut JMS562 doesn't run JBOD on SATA (unless port multiplier is supported - not the case on modern machines), it's either RAID0 or SPAN.
-
" How do you increase drive capacity further when your controller tops out at 2TB? By using JBOD. To construct a 4TB drive, Mushkin is basically putting two Reactor 2TB SSDs on a single PCB. Those drives are then joined into a JBOD with a separate controller."
and apparently with a Silicon Motion's SM2246EN controller. -

@HTWingNut not bad if it is indeed running JBOD, but given my research of JMS562 and competing controllers - I will believe it only when there is actual proof.

the 4tb is not for sale anywhere . -

I saw this also.
I strongly think it's also a reactor.
It came out on the same day.
I'm not sure about it though.
Mushkin is very hard to tell what it is they sell.
They definitely sell at least 2 models they sell SanDisk and crucial sourced stuff.
I own a reactor but it might be different than these ones
