Do you guys know anything about Mushkin RAM? Any notable issues with quality/performance/support/warranty/etc when compared with similar modules from other manufacturers?

In particular, I'm looking at this set of 8GB DDR2s: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226047 for my HDX18.

Any insight would be great. Thanks in advance.

Nothing wrong with it, that's for sure. It's got a lifetime warranty and considering the $315 price on that single stick of Kingston 4GB, it seems like a pretty good price; 8GB DDR2 kits are still quite rare though, so it's hard to say for sure. Mushkin is generally considered to be "enthusiast" memory, at least in the desktop market.

Honestly do not buy it now.
8Gb memory kits are extremely expensive. If you can wait a good 6 months, the price will be around $150 or so, which to me is worth it. I wouldnt pay $370 for that memory kit.

Mushkin makes good memory, they usually use Qimonda memory chips

Thanks! Definitely taking both opinions into account.

I probably could live without the 8GB upgrade for now, but I only have 3GB (because I knew I was going to eventually upgrade to 8GB) right now running Vista Home Premium. That usually leave me with less than 1.5GB left over for running various apps and such. That isnt much for me, especially when I have 10+ apps open.

Anyone else have any opinions on the Mushkin RAM?

Why don't you just upgrade to 4GB for now? I'd assume you've got 1 x 1GB + 1 x 2GB making up your 3GB; 2GB DDR2 memory modules are exponentially cheaper than 4GB modules, and 4GB should tide you over until the prices fall on the 8GB kit(s).
