Is this normal for this 720QM to run all 4 cores at 1.73GHz. I use wPrime to get all 4 cores at 100%. I have done both 32 and 1024 and it pins 1.73GHz. The multiplier is x13.

Anyone have thoughts? If this is normal then why call it a 1.6GHz if it does 4 cores at 1.73GHz.

Do I have some more 740 variant with 720 SPD info on it?

The 720QM has turbo boost and runs at 2.8Ghz when 1 core is active, 2.4Ghz with 2 active, and 1.73Ghz when 3 or 4 are active. When idle it runs at its base speed of 1.6Ghz.

Thats a possibility...I mean, those have a 12x multiplier and run at 1.6ghz...what are the BIOS settings? Either case, its not normal lol...you might have some new CPU or maybe Intel flashed the SPD incorrectly or something?

Yea I guess you are correct. It just throws me that it can turbo with all cores going 100%. I guess I am happy.

Oh at idle runs 931MHz (x7). But I get your point thanks.
