My player recently decided to stop playing media. I first uninstalled it, then rebooted and had windows reinstal it. did not help. Then I got a cleaning disk, put it in and it wouldnt run it. When I put a disk in it starts to run, spins a little. The light on the player comes on. I open my computer, click on the D: drive but it just says insert disc. So i restarted and hit F12 to boot from disc and rebooted my computer, it read it and worked. I completly erased the drive and reinstalled factory settings with the disc. Now a few weeks later, it wont read it again. So I tried eveyrthing I previously mentioned again, but nothing. So i tried to reinstall everything but it wont even read the disc now when i reboot and hit F12. Anyone have any ideas? is my drive bad or is there anything else I can try to fix it?

I suggest that you try some form of optical driver cleaning kit first. It could be a simple dirty laser reader.

    cheers ...
