    Hey all,

As you all know I recently got a new laptop. But I think there might be a problem. my CPU cores are running on load at 65C, 45C on idle, my hard drive temp is going up to about 50C and I have another temp. ACPI or something and that is going above 60C as well. are laptops meant to run this toasty or not?

    Thanks,

    Alex

Mine does on all counts, and I don't even have a powerful machine. ;)

    What is your laptop, BTW?

That's about right. On load I get about 62-68, idle around 49-51, and basic usage like FireFox, it is around 53-58.

on load I'll get into the 60's and low 70's and on idle and normal usage anywhere from the 40's to 50's. But my hard drive never reaches the 50's ...40's at most so far.

My Samsung hard drive is about 52-53C. I believe the previous Seagate was around the same.
