Just a simple bragging session. I got 7.9 on all my ratings on a ThinkPad W500 in Windows Experience Rating! Surely this rivals modern day desktops running i7 quad processors and Nvidia GTX cards. :D Enjoy!

There's a simple hack to make that score whatever you want. That's what you probably did. ;)

There's a hack to change the windows experience rating? LOL! Show me, I don't believe it. If that were the case, I wouldn't even waste my time posting some phony ratings.

The sheer number of times I've had to post this on NBR is just plain sad. We need to institute a new rule: auto banhammer for anyone who provokes me into posting this darn image again.

Getting a high WEI score is not impressive or something that should be used for computer comparison at all.

It can be easily faked, it really is bad at determining relative performance, and is just a bad benchmark in general.

Edit: That seems so fake.....give us your laptop specs......I doubt dual core and just 6GB of RAM will give you 7.9....

WEI isnt really a benchmark. Its just used to determine how well Vista or Windows 7 will run on that machine.

Too bad using WEI to measure your computer's performance is like using your arse to measure the strength of an earthquake.

Why did he even try this? Besides all other components his GPU is never going to score that high, simply because such a GPU isn't available for the W500

i feel bad for even posting in this thread and thereby probably doing exactly what the OP wanted :(

It is a poor indication of your computer's performance.

well, cheating is wrong, and the OP cheated.

but WEI is perfectly fine for a simple, basic judgement of the performance of the system. saying it's wrong is wrong. WEI is okay, it shows the bottlenecks of the system, and thus helps where money is well spend on upgrades. it is, like all benchmarks on this whole world, not perfect. but it's simple, and accurate enough.

Parts of it aren't accurate. I've seen several times faster memory and HDD score lower on WEI.

I believe the CPU mark is ok though.

What's the WEI compared against? Nothing! Exactly. So what's the point in running a test like this? It would help if they had a comparision chart with actual speed and expected speed for your system. I still think anything like 3DMark will show more accurate results.

It's like trying to find out your credit score and they say something like 700 and you ask then okay is that good or bad and they tell you I don't know but I've seen higher and lower ones but they don't tell you how high or how low.
