My Sager 9262 screen recently went dark and I think the back light is dead.
How do I replace the ccfl, and where do I get the right one?

    Chris.

Have you looked on eBay? Replacing the backlight is a pain in the rear job, very tedious. You might be better off doing the whole screen.

I agree...there are a lot of small wires and all the backlight might be toxic if ur not careful u might break it... your really better off getting the screen which is easier to replace but not really that easy.

    OK its tedious.
But the CCFL are around 20 dollars and the screen is 300+.
Is there a site or a FAQ on doing this?

    Chris.

The problem is not breaking. The ccfl bulb is quite bendable. The problem is getting the different part of the panel back together when you are done. If you don't place the new bulb the exact same way the old one was, you will get massive light leakage. Also some have shorter or longer power cables than the original bulb.... The whole operation is a PITA but if you really want to engage yourself on that thorny path here is the guide:
