I just tried to image my OS onto a blu ray disc on my blu ray burner using a Verbatim BD-R, and I get the message, "file system not compatible with disc" or some such. I tried formatting the disc, but I get the same message. Do I need to download an update? What am I doing wrong?

I have an HP HDX18t with a blu ray burner. I verified that HP installed the blu ray burner and not just a blu ray reader.

is there a chance that they made a mistake, and it is just a BD-ROM? or perhaps you need to try BD-RE disks?

I checked and made sure that it's a burner and not just a BD-ROM. From what I understand, it should be able to burn to both BD-R or BD-RE. I'm wondering if I need a program like ImgBurn?

Ok, maybe it's just that Acronis True Image 2009 won't make a ghost image to a blu ray disc. I just tried using Cyberlink DVD to copy the image that was made by Acronis from an external hard drive to blu ray, and it worked. Hopefully doing it this way won't give me an unusable image on the blu ray for restoration purposes.

You will be fine as long as you just burned it as a data disk.
