Ok so I just reinstalled windows today. All was good and well. I was going about my business just installing my programs. I even got to install some games and play. After I finished my gaming session I kept installing some more programs and suddenly my computer just started lagging really really hard. I couldn't even open the start menu and this lasted a good 5 minutes. My hard drive light would be on constantly and would flicker about every second. I tried safe mode and scanning for viruses. Midway through the scan, same problem. Hardcore lag and hard drive flickering. I tried a chkdsk. It got as far as step 4 before it got stuck again. Did a hard shutdown and I decided I'll just wait it out. Going from the login screen to windows took about 10 minutes before it started actually loading windows. Here I am now. Bad hard drive or what?

Can you can the hardrive out and scan it in another computer? Also if you can put it in another computer/external hardrive...eSATA prefered install speedfan and run the SMART analysis so you can see if it is a bad hardrive. It is always good to run speedfan's SMART analysis because you never know when a hardrive is about to go. I have the G51j with 260m and i check my hardrives every month and as they get worse i'll check them more frequently.
Otherwise i honestly have nothing else to tell you. My guess would be hardrive but if that is good then its either programs classing or some other hardware dying.
Sorry I am of little help. -
Well here's a quick SS of HD Tune on my hard drive:

drive i guess....i am used to speefans info...it gives descriptions and explains things for retards like me
Unsure if thats a bad amount of dead sectors. I got 33 and its not an issue. my friend had 2000 and thats a problem. I think 500+ is max most hardrives have of spare sectors to replace bad ones but i may be wrong
My hard drive done?
