I have run tests on pcpitstop.com and I ran the everest test, and they both say I have a 1733 mghz processor....

Any ideas why it's doing this?

pcpitstop.com said it had no other processors to compare me against, so it just gave me generic results... still all checkered flags though....

If the tests say your processor is running at half the speed you bought it at, they are right. Most laptops "underclock" as to reduce the heat outputage, you can easily make it run normally by going into your power options, and putting it as the setting Home/Office Desk, but keep in mind, your computer will make significantly more heat, so do something about that. My friend uses bottle caps underneath the feet and that gives it more ventilation while I feel that the kickstand is adequate.

try Notebook Hardware Control 1.10 Beta 03 - Personal Edition ( http://www.pbus-167.com/chc.htm#anchor_download). Set your machine to Maximum performance and you'll get your actual computer maximum performance reading. set it then to Dynamic swtiching to allow machine to automatically optimize resources according to need of the task. In this way you save on power and resources consumption for both battery and AC, lower down temperature, adjust fan speed and rotation according to need.

    You're kidding right?

    1,733Mhz=1.733Ghz or rounded 1.7Ghz.

    Is that what you have?

very nice program, thanks. It's scary to watch the CPU temp rise steadily after going to max perfermance... but it cooled down quick after going back to dynamic. It does perform as rated, nice to know!

I'm surprised no one else caught that either. :D

If you're concerned about high CPU temps I suggest you undervolt your cpu using NHC. It's effective at cutting the heat. Just make sure you run prime or something similar to ensure you're not getting errors.

My CPU temp is at 113F, so I think I'm okay there.
My hd temp is 102F, even better.
