I just notice one of my ram sticks is completely different from the other one. I tried finding info on my second stick but nothing comes up and i feel it is allot slower then my other stick? Are those timings correct and am i getting a performance hit? Or is it normal and everything a ok?
Cheers.

It's not what I would call "alot slower".
Software is not always correct in reading the timings set in SPD. Or it could be an incorrectly programmed SPD. Or it could actually be those timings. You should take a look at the sticker on the module itself to see the timings. -
Is your ram functioning at a frequency of 400MHz..??
-
DDR = double data rate
400x2=800mhz
OP: Looks fine to me, first slot is PC 5300 667, the timing is correct
second slot is PC 6400 800 which can come in CAS 5 or 6 latency -
No, I meant, the SPD timings table should show timings of 266MHz and 333MHz as well..isn't it..??
And to the OP, you have two different modules, PC2-5300 and PC2-6400, so the timings and frequency of the PC2-6400 will downclock to the same values as that of PC2-5300....as the DDR2 modules are backward compatible..!! -
Oh i see,
Yes your DDR2 6400 should downclock to 333mhz but i dont think CPU-z or Everest is up to date on this. -
So the system all good and timing is matched with the other stick? Dont know how i got a pc6400 coos the box that it came in is exactly the same number as the pc5300 even on the chip the numbers are the same
Anyway is my system going to benifit if i put in another pc5300 or should i just leave the system as is?
Thanks. -
No need for a replacement, it really won't matter....because the PC2-6400 ram is functioning at the same frequency ad has the same memory timings as the PC2-5300 module....(DDR2 is backward compatible)
So you are in a way, actually using two PC2-5300 modules..!!
My ram timings look all wrong?
