I would use the MyDigitalSSD BP3 256GB mSATA SSD as Primary OS + programs
and mSATA to USB 3.0 Combo Kit would gift it to someone![]()

4. id test it to see exactly how fast my usb 3.0 slot ran and the drive its self..
5. id debate on if i should install it as my game drive..
6. id be done debating and install it as my GAME DRIVE..
7. Id speed test the drive again ..
8. id write some review on the drive and the satisfaction im getting out of it..

but i dont want to get my hopes up so this is all hypothetical. -
I would use the SSD to replace an ailing, tiny one and setup a hard disk for external storage.

Since mSATA is a key feature of the MSI GT70 0NE notebooks, I would test and feature this product as back-up storage, and file server application. If pleased, as I suspect I would be, I would then purchase a pair of 256GB MyDigitalSSD 'SMART' series mSATA SSD's...... testing these as primary SuperRAID0 storage, and as an upgrade alternative to MSI notebooks equipped with the MemoRight MS-701 mSATA drives. A 'WIN-WIN' situation for everyone.....

How would you use the MyDigitalSSD BP3 256GB mSATA SSD and mSATA to USB 3.0 Combo Kit?
I would use it to replace my old aging harddrive! -
i would mcguyver duck tape the set back on my slate 7 tablet and have a monster windows 8 tablet with total of 384GB storage!
And yes pictures or it did not happenbut that requires me to win:thumbsup:
-
My VPCZ1 has a 500GB HDD which really slows things down for me, especially the boot and restart times. With the BIOS Hack (we won't get any new drivers from Sony, so we have to resort to this) I have to reboot to change the graphics adapter and it is very frustrating. I'd like to use this as my system drive, and put the HDD in an enclosure for extra storage.
-
i'd like to use it to revive my 4 yrs old hp dv6 out of the dust bin,and make it back in duty.....
-
If I had a 256gb msata drive, I would use it to further my alienware hangar18 hd restoration project.
Currently I am using a 32gb msata drive to run windows off of, but would love to be able to install some more programs in there.
I would then take my 32gb drive, install it into the usb enclosure to install a bootable XBMCubuntu drive.
Alienware hangar 18 hd restoration -
The SSD will be a gift to my friend. I think he will love it!
USB Kit will be used for diagnosis and moving stuff around!! -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Pretty much nothing unusual here too, I would also replace my 5400RPM HDD with that fancy SSD. 256Gb would be perfect for me, since my current OS partition is ~250Gb. In my user experience I've found out that 250Gb for OS needs is perfect.
The current 500Gb HDD would end up in that enclosure in the end. -
I'd give my old thinkpad x200 a nice bump in usage. It be fantastic little increase in performance.
-
Swap my wife's 128gb msata for the 256gb and stick it in the enclosure. I'd use the 128gb as an awesomely fast Windows 8 To Go box to replace my current western digital USB drive.
-
I would use the drive in its enclosure to use in a car computer setup. Bumps on the road are killer for regular hard drives.
-
Bullet Proof you say...?
Being in the army this would come in handy, wouldn't want to lose "precious data" while in on deployment... it can be a long, lonely time in a foreign country...
Also showing the hierarchy how robust and fast solid state drives are might help me convince them to upgrade from HDDs in our entire networking and client infrastructure -
Unfortunately I cannot compete with the brave men in foreign countries defending us. However, if I were to win, I would have good use for it.
I use a laptop for work in a rather unique way. I do custom fabrication, mostly sports car related. Everything from stainless exhausts, to aluminum dash boards and center consoles, to roll cages and frame work. I also do car tuning and have broken a few laptops and hdds that way.
If I were to win, it would be used for 3d modeling, car tuning, and various other related things! Ever trip and drop your laptop on a running dyno? I think my hard drive ricocheted 20 feet off a cement wall, and landed on top of the shop doors, 15 feet in the air. Rest of the laptop was strewn about an area around 20*50 feet.
That one set me back a bit!

Video game capture/editing and for general editing. I would probably also store virtual machine files there
-
I would use it to dual boot Mac OS X on my Hp Probook 4430s.
-
I would use it to finally lay to rest my doubts about choosing a HP Envy 17 over the new MBP retina. The extra 256gb ssd would make my Envy equal the 768gb ssd on the MBPretina I had ordered, then cancelled.

Easy! Moar blazing fast accessibility!
I would install my OS on this & fit the other bays with 1TB HDDs. Killer boot time with the mSATA + killer storage. -
Since nobody suggested this so far then I will put the SSD on write endurance test with Anvil's Storage Utilities until it dies. Then I'll upload the results for all to see how this drive performs over time. Respectful results on various other SSDs can be found here: SSD Write Endurance 25nm Vs 34nm , as this thread made me choose my current SSDs.
If there's interest then I may start similar thread on here as well.
then I'll get me a shirt that says "MyDigitalSSD, where is yours?", will stitch the SSD on it and will wear the shirt when I go to do tech support jobs, or at parties. Luckily my neighbor has a machine that can do signs on t-shirts as she uses it for her advertising work, so that wont be a problem at all
the USB3 enclosure I will use long time with various drives that I want to connect to any computers that I come to work with, so this will be my only personal benefit from this offer, besides the cool t-shirt -
I would use this as a place to store and run my Virtual Machines. I'd have enough space for my Windows XP / Backtrack 5.1 and Windows 8 machine plus an image of my company laptop to save me lugging two machines about.
-
This is exactly what I am looking for! I have an ASUS eeePC which I really love. It only has a 32GB SSD drive in it right now and I need to upgrade it. I would use the enclosure for the 32GB drive and put the 256GB in the netbook.
-
Well i would use the mSATA SSD as the OS drive to finally expeirance the amazing speeds of a SSD and the enclosure would be nice to finally utilize the speeds of the USB 3.0 ports.
-
I have been using mSATA drives for a while now and to tell you the through I've never heard of MyDigitalSSD until today. I am using SSD drives from the last 6-7 years. At the moment I was looking to add to one of my systems this 'large' mSATA disk as the operating system and ofcourse extra additional space. Most probably, even if I will not win, I may probably buy one, since the sponsor has specified that this product has improved over the last few years and probably is very reliable, I would gladly try it out.
Thank you for giving me this opportunity of getting a chance in winning this wonderful product! -
I would use the mSATA SSD in the enclosure and use it as a easy way to move things around super fast instead of using a usb flash drive and their tiny storage.
-
First I'd use the cable to transfer data from my current 128GB Samsung 830 to the new 256GB SSD and stick the new SSD in my laptop. Then I'd take my Samsung 830 and put it in my mom's old desktop computer to speed it up.
-
I would love to be able to use a SSD in my T430. The HDD in this is extremely slow; boot times are up at around 2 minutes just to get into the desktop environment.
-
I would use it for file backup/transfer.
-
I would swap out my laptops 240GB Mushkin drive with the 256GB drive and put the Mushkin into the enclosure for a beast portable drive.
-
I just picked up a Samsung series 7 17.3. I would use SSD to replace the drive in it; then use the drive from the laptop in the enclosure as an external backup for my microserver.

I would like to test if the mPCIe in Studio XPS 16 is usable with mSATA SSD,
and another test on Express Card USB 3.0, will it have enough juice to power the mSATA, since the HDD I own can't run without additional power adapter.. -
I would add it up to my M14x R2 because right now I dont have much space left on my 500gb hard drive!
-
I would use both together as portable SSD, pretty amazing saturating USB 3.0.
-
I will use it to speed up my laptop! And maybe install Win8 on it
-
I would probably take the opportunity to finally replace my full-of-bloatware stock Win7 install with a fresh new Win8 one on my new superfast SSD
.
-
I have a 4 month old laptop. And I have an empty mSATA port. My big plan is to use the MyDigitalSSD BP3 256GB mSATA SSD as my OS main drive, perform a fresh clean install of Windows 7 and dual boot with some Linux distro (OpenSUSE or Linux Mint KDE), and use the 500GB HDD as storage. The MyDigitalSSD USB 3.0 External 2.5" SATA / 50mm mSATA SSD Enclosure Combo will be use to access my two HDDs of my old dead laptop and use them as backup.
-
Fat Dragon Just this guy, you know?
I would use it as an external media drive until I bought a new laptop, at which point I would install the SSD as the boot + programs drive and use an HDD for storage.
Edit - realized that this is an mSATA SSD, not 2.5". New plan. -
I would install Windows 8 on the SSD as well as Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4. Being a photographer who needs a fast editing machine, the SSD will be very useful.
-
I'd use it as my main desktop drive, and while away at work \ school take it and use it inside the Enclosure drive to bring lightning-fast extra storage to my laptop.
-
Thank you for removing US only restriction.
How would you use the MyDigitalSSD BP3 256GB mSATA SSD and mSATA to USB 3.0 Combo Kit?
A: I will use it as my small and light on the go drive and this shall replace my thumbdrive. MyDigitalSSD BP3 256GB mSATA SSD is really physically small enough. -
I would use the SSD to create a master virus and destroy the desktopreview website.
-
First of all, thanks so much for making this offer not just US-only.
I'd use the SSD as my main desktop drive, hosting a range of different OS's; XP, Vista, 7, several linux distro's and some favourite games of course.
The mSATA to USB 3.0/SATA3 Kit would be used for an older mSATA drive which would be hooked up to SATA3, delivering speed at maximum.
As this Adaptor kit provides USB3.0 speed and SATA3 speed, it's a handy choice for cloning needs also.
cheers. -
niffcreature ex computer dyke
What would I use it for? Why, all of my programs and my OS of course. I'm sure I'd be able to use it as a main SSD in my sony Z somehow leaving me with 256gb + 128gb (2nd SSD) and 640gb HDD.
I'd use it for Ableton live. I'd load huge uncompressed samples and (hopefully) be able to use my low latency audio interface without the disk bottlenecking the latency.
Thus I would have an ultimate mobile electronic music production setup that would finally be fast enough for my needs. I would be able to do realtime sampling as well without getting worried about the disk speed.
I may reach my goal of being an electronic music artist that can improvise under any circumstances and fit it with the rest of the group through use of this SSD. Who knows? The skys the limit! -
I would use it to transfer all my data from my MBP to my new MSI GT70!
-
I will puy it inside my T430 asa second hard drive and probably gonna be my linux drive...
-
I would write a word document that was 256gb worth of "I love MyDigitalDiscount for giving me this drive
" and store it on the drive!
-
I would use the MyDigitalSSD BP3 256GB mSATA SSD and mSATA to USB 3.0 Combo Kit to upgrade my Sony Laptop into a better gaming and video editing machine.
-
I'd replace my drive in my Toshiba Protege Z835 and install Windows 8 and use the adapter on my old mSata drive.
-
Replace 128 in my laptop and use 128 in enclosure.
