i picked up both a MDSSD BP4 120GB mSATA and their USB 3.0 enclosure from amazon for $98. i'm fairly impressed at how close to advertised max throughput they bench at together. MDSSD warns that using the enclosure with a board that doesn't support UASP may limit performance rather dramatically ( by as much as 50-60%!), but whatever's in my P150EM/NP9150 must support UASP.
$100 for 120GB at these speeds checks out. while researching the purchase, i was originally comparing this to a similarly sized USB 3.0 flash drive. this apparently trounces even the recently announced sandisk extreme pro. obviously not as portable, but close -- a fair trade-off you could say.
