Just got a NEC MultiSync PA271W, I wonder how it compares with more modern 2560x1440 (2.5K) monitors such as Dell Ultrasharp U2715, etc.

It is is a model that came out in 2010, this particular unit was manufactured in 2013.

The only disadvantage that I can see, it uses CCFL and a cooling fan which makes the monitor kind of thick. The original plan was to get a Dell Ultrasharp in the 27" and 2560x1440 configuration however amazon reviews suggested tons of issues with firmware and stuff.

The colors look really nice. Overall, the PQ is stunning. I think 2.5K works really well with 27" monitors. With 27", 1080 (HD) looks too grainy and 4K looks too tiny.
