    Hello world!

    I need one 500GB 7200 RPM HDD.
My second slot is empty, I want to buy a 500 GB HDD to that second slot so I don't need to take my 1TB External HDD to Turkey. I'm not going to use it as my OS-Disk I have Western Digital 320GB Scorpio Black 16MB Cache 7200 RPM Wich I will continue to use as OS-Disk
The only one I have found is:
    Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9500420ASG - harddisk - 500 GB - SATA-300
It is not in store yet but date is: 7.June

Is there any other drives I can go for?
    I need it before 19. June !

    ------------------------------------------------------

I want also to buy an SSD disk so I can change it out with my WD 320 GB.
    I found only this one:
    OCZ 120 GB SSD 2,5" S-ATA II 64MB cache, Vertex Series, Read/Write 200/160MB/sec
The price is very high on this, should I wait more?
And buy it at end of the year?
And yes, I need at least 120GB to OS. I do little bit Video/Image editing and Gaming. I play games like GTA IV, CrySis, Fear2. This means; Lot Of Space !

[If it makes any sence, my specs is in signature.]
    Thanks for your time...

WD5000BEVT performs slightly better than Seagate 7200.4
    http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/17010

But your WD3200BEKT is faster than both.

You're probably better of waiting for WD5000BEKT.

    Thanks for your reply.
I'm not going to use 500GB as OS-disk. I only buy it becouse I don't want to travle with my 1TB external disk. I'm going to check WD5000BEVT out. Any idea when it will be available ?

The Corsair 128GB MLC SSD is not as fast as the Vertex, but it's also cheaper.

From what I'm getting at tuηay is that you need the second storage drive and that you want a new primary drive. Just go with the 7200.4 for storage and get an SSD when the prices drop in autumn.

Yes, SSD is not so important now. It was just an idea to speed up. What I need is a a 500GB (7200rpm) to leave me external harddisk at home :)

The Corsair SSD is a rebadge of the 2nd generation Samsung MLC SSD. It is by no means "slow," unless you are comparing it with the Intel drives.

the 256GB is a rebadge of 2nd gen. The 128GB is a 1st gen, unless things have changed.

Sorry, thought there were three generations of Samsung SSDs. Didn't realize that the 64GB and 128GB were part of the same gen.
