What does the new Intel platform, to be released next year (any idea on the date?) offer in comparison to today's technology? I've only heard something about it being able to 'release' the C2D potential, as the chipset is the current bottleneck for this processor.

Other associated information would be appreciated. Is it worth the wait? Prices of notebooks w/ it overall, taking into account the post-Christmas prices (historically)?

    Thanks

You must mean the Santa Rosa. Far as I know, the most prominent feature is an increase in the speed of the FSB to 800Mhz to better feed the C2D's. Might be some other typical new gimmicky Intel features that marginally boost performance as well (yes they all sound good before they come out...remember MMX?).
