Hi, I'm thinking of upgrade my laptop broken graphic card and I have a question (to do so I need to change BIOS) - it's possible to get actual laptop bios with phoenix bios recovery - crisic disc? So when you start phoenix crisis procedure you actually don't overwrite the bios but instead download the current one on to USB flash stick? Thanks for any advice (if it's a wrong section, please move the topic).

Ah ... an understandable confusion;
- A.) Recovery -> recover the current bios.
- B.) Recovery -> recover a 'dead' system by overwriting the bios.
From the strange, unfamiliar name it's clear this is a Clevo system, only ... which one? Check the bios menu so that you know which version you have now and, perhaps, also the system's name. If the latter's not there then look at the stickers on the bottom or behind the battery. With the name+bios version at hand you can then download the proper bios file. One of the files inside of that .zip is the bios file, called 'BIOS.WPH' in the tool's instructions page.
Hm ... there's also this uncanny tool you could try; Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit v2.0. If it works with this bios then it can't get any easier; rename the saved file to 'BIOS.WPH' and copy that to the recovery stick. -
@ t456, great! Thanks for the info and links.
