    Hi,

I'm planning to buy a 14inch laptop and i can't decide wich one to buy.
I will be playing lots of recent game and the only thing that hold me from buying the sony cw is the graphic card (NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M 512mb). I found the asus n81vp-d2 with a ATI HD4650 Graphics with 1GB DDR3 but it has a very worst battery life wich also holds me from buying it.

Will the ati beats the nvidia that much or will i still be able to play new games with the nvidia. Can you guys describe me the differences between the two (benchmark, etc)

    Thank you for your help!

My my, it's like threads like this(HD4650 vs GT230M) are popping by the dozen recently o_O

In a nutshell, the HD4650 is better. It scores ~2500 in 3d mark Vantage while the GT240(which is more powerful than the GT230M) scores ~2300. Mind you, synthetic benchmarks and actual game performance aren't always the same. The actual gaming difference was shown to be noticeable although not really ground breaking(if a game can't run on the GT230M, it likely won't run on the HD4650 either).

Either GPU should be able to play any game out however the more demanding ones(Crysis, GTA4 etc) will have to have their settings/resolution toned down. As for future proofing, they should still be able to play games down the years, but settings will have to be further toned down.
