has anyone else received notice of this in the mail? I got a postcard yesterday (at my company address) stating that NVIDIA has set aside 2 million (is that all?) and the case would be finalizing on Dec 10th, and you could file claims at that point. I have a pile of failed D620s here at my desk that are out of warranty, and when I checked 5-6 of them, every single one has the KX350 part number and qualified.
We also have a ton of D630s that have had the motherboard replaced god knows how many times that qualify. Guess I'm going to be a busy man Dec 10th inputting all these machines.

Yea there's only 2 million for consumers, with 10+ going to the lawyers behind the suit. Also the final hearing is Dec 20th, not the 10th

You're right, I looked at the postcard and it's Dec 20th. -

Name one consumer protection we'd have, or safety improvement in cars, or on and on without a good legal system.
I've lived abroad long enough to know I'm happy we have access to good lawyers here. Is the system perfect, no. In fact, it would be a lot better if more citizens got involved in VOTING, not just in general elections, but in primaries.
Geeze, everybody hates lawyers and plumbers until you need one.
If you do want to persecute somebody, how about the current crock stinking up congress? (Most of them are lawyers that couldn't make it in their chosen practice, I think.) Flush 'em all!
What was the original topic? -
no, I just think it's ridiculous the lawyers are getting 5/6th of the payout. That's a pretty hefty percentage.
As far as the rest of your post, I agree -
I got a postcard in the mail two days ago mentioning the class action and how to file a claim. I shredded it. It says you can only either get reimbursed for out of pocket costs to repair your affected notebook, or you get a replacement part.

It depends on your model. Some are being replaced with new computers.

2 million dollars? what a joke.....
