I'm considering getting an Asus A6T and one config is with only one memory stick.

I assume that means that chipset isn't dual channel ?

The Nvidia sites doesn't say anything about it so I assume it's not

The chipset on AMD based systems has very little to do with the memory since the memory controllers are located on the cpu. So, all current AMD mobile processors based on socket S1(Turion X2, Turion MK, mobile Sempron64(S1)) support dual channel memory.

I know the memory controller is in the cpu but still.

I assume it will run both as both single and dual channel then!!!

Since the memory controller is on the cpu...it controls the memory & the chipset has nothing to do with it. The memory talks directly with the processor, the chipset is taken out of the equation.

Anyways yes, if you have 1 stick then it will be single channel. If you pair 2 equal sized sticks then it will run dual channel.
