I recently purchased a 160GB Hitachi travelstar SATA drive. The unit that came in the NX9420 is a 100GB Hitachi travelstar SATA. Made an image from old drive to new drive, new drive will not boot. If using a CD based bootROM to a RAM disk, the NX9420 can see the entire 160GB drive. there is no place in the NX9420 BIOS to set the disk drive size. Downloaded latest BIOS from HP, helps not. Question is, is there an intrinsic BIOS problem here, or is it a problem with all this complicated security stuff and E partition (DOS) that HP has in there? Any insight appreciated, this 100GB is endlessly painful, always offloading stuff and then I do not have it when I need it.
