Books and elderly people.....surely not? I mean, I know more than my parents anyway; have done since my teen years. Or so I think......

Well, perhaps Aluminum HDD Platters would do great cymbals, after all we do have Titanium cymbals, riiiight? Haha.
Anyway, beatsiz, I know you don't know me or anything, but just to add up to the comicality of the thread, perhaps your exposure to mural paintings without organic masks had effects that weren't short-term at all...*looks at "100+% fragmented" harddrives*no offenses meant.

What do you mean titatnium? TITATIUM PLATTERED HDD's?!?!?! WHERE?!?!?!!?
What is bigger than 3.5" HDD's? Please refrain from saying 3.5"+ since that is obvious, and yes I am too lazy to google it right now
Hahaha
EDIT: Opened a 250GB External HDD that was broken... THREE (thick...) ALUMINUM PLATTERS ! ! !
STACK'EM BABY ! ! !
WOW ! ! ! these thicker ones ring out way longer and are higher pitched! (denser metal I think)
PS: Anybody know if I the platter is toxic? I was rubbing it against my cheek enjoying the coldness of it and flicking it for the sound when I all of sudden thought of "toxic" lol -
There shouldn't be anything toxic. Maybe a bit of lubricating grease.
From what I've read in review, titanium cymbals aren't all that great. Cast bronze is where it's at. For now I'm stuck with Zildjian ZHT sheet bronze, but for their price, they're fantastic.
My bad for going OT. -
I have (and yes you will orgasm):
14" Zildjian Avedis New Beat Hi-Hat's
14" Zildjian Avedis Fast Crash
16" Zildjian Avedis Medium Crash
20" Zildjian Avedis Medium Ride
6 Piece Sonor Force 3007 Sparkle White:
8"X7" High Tom
10"X8" Medium Tom
12"X10" Medium Tom
16""X16" Floor Tom
22"X20" Bass Drum (Didn't have a choice, but I don't regret it at all)
14"X7.5" Snare
I got the shell pack for $700... SEVEN HUNDRED BUCKS, BRAND NEW, STRAIGHT FROM SONOR!
Now with HDD Platter Sizzler on the ride and thin HDD Hi-Hat Ping -
FYI OT = Off Topic
-
And hey, I didn't mean Titanium HDD Platters, although that would be a real product there, right? Hahahaha a new Disk Shock Protection system ftw! -
And in a family where everyone plays music, instruments have priority.
I set that up for $2000. Retail would of been $3000+
And this setup will last for years and years to come.
I will probably never give up the cymbals, the shells will last me a couple decades.
I fragmented a Broken 3.5" HDD (turns out the bearings or something in there was making scratchy noises and stuff... it's from 1999)
And a 2.5" that was buzzing and dying on me after 2 years of nearly 24/7 uptime and my early days of throwing things onto my harddrive, installing things here and there, and my computer would reboot after an update and shutdown after 15 seconds and it would keep booting and crash, so the HDD kept clicking... so yeaaah hahaha
