    Need 9.5mm spacer for Intel X25-M or 320

    This might be a long shot, but I'm looking for the black outside spacer that made the X25-M and 320 ssd's 9.5mm. Mine came as 7mm and my next notebook takes 9.5mm. If you removed the spacer (as a lot of people did when notebooks started using 7mm drives) and just have it laying around, let me know and I'll pay you for it. Otherwise I'll sell this one and buy another 320 with the spacer. Thanks.

    Are you sure you need the spacer?

    A 7mm drive should fit a 9.5mm bay without the spacer. The holes for the fixing screws are on the metal part of the drive so the spacer would only be needed for the rare situation of a drive being held in place without the screws.

    You might be right. They've changed the Thinkpad's hard drive bracket design though. It doesn't look like there are screws, and may rely on the drive positioning itself in the space to an extent.
