Hello everyone,
I have a simple question that will probably not have a simple answer. My mom bought me a small 10" "Sony Vaio" as a gift. When I got it, the OS seemed a bit weird to me, so I did a clean install of Windows XP (this was a copy I had laying around and not originally on the computer, the original was a XP look-alike). I then went to look for the drivers, only to find that I couldn't find the model number of my "Sony Vaio". I have now determined that my "Sony Vaio" is a knock-off, but now where/how do I find my drivers?
I have attached my report from Everest Home Edition, the only thing I erased was my name and the computer's name.
Thanks for any help!
EDIT: I'm really looking for any and all drivers, but sound and network are my main priorities.

Hi,
at first, install Service Pack3 for Windows.
Then simply check Sony support website for drivers: Sony eSupport - Computers & Peripherals - Select Your Model
I would expect there is a sticker somewhere that shows the model #

Hi,
First off, Please realize this thread was posted in Sept 2010, 9 months ago, the problem has been solved already.
Second, It was not as simple as going to the Sony website, as check it, it was NOT an actual Sony. There was no sticker because it wasn't a Sony.
In case anyone else has this problem, here is how I found my drivers. I looked at the device id and searched it in google. I remember clearly that none of the drivers I found were from Sony.
I have experienced this before (the doubt that there can be no knock off laptops), because this laptop has given me multiple problems. I have brought it to two experienced computer shops for parts who told me that a knock off simply isn't possible over the phone and when I brought it in, guess what? They were wrong.
On the next note, if you guys still don't believe that a knock-off laptop is possible, I have a ton of Gucci and Louis Vitton purses I need to get rid of and would be willing to sell them for an AWESOME price.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 29, 2015 -

Check out a program called slim driver or Driver Updater. For future reference of course.
