    Need New ACER CMOS Battery-Pls help-Urgent

    Hello
    i bought laptop from some1.There was something wrong with CMOS battery so he removed it.Now i need to install new battery.I tried searching for battery on eBay but i did not find any for my laptop.My laptop is Acer TravelMate 4011WLCI.
    My question is will it work if i put any other acer CMOS battery.There is some battery on eBay which is for acer. Is all Laptop CMOS battery same.Pls help me.thank you very much in advance

    they are not all the same. if the voltage et al matches, you're ok. just buy one from Acer directly.

    they dont sell cmos battery alone.I called acer direct and they gave me number for authorized dealer.I called them and they dont sell either.They said i need to buy whole mother board.Pls help i want to send notebook back home by this end of week.So i need it to fix.thx

    that's pretty weak.

    you should try to find the part # for a replacement. if you had the actual battery in front of you, you could just do a visual match for form factor and then verify the voltage.

    i would say, get the part # from Acer (or google), then look up online parts stores of if you have a Fry's or similar "electronics" store in your area, just buy one there (Radio Shack might even have them).
