Hey guys so over time I have been lightly researching how to get the 1080 working in the Ranger. I have determined that the msi version that has supplemental power would likely be the best option.

However the card itself comes from the msi vortex g65vr and in order for this scenario to work I need the supplement power cable which looks to be a flat 6-pin.

Is there a way for me to sourde this cable from msi or is there an alternative connector I use in its place? I plan to use an AC adapter to get this powered externally. The only hitch so far is simply the cable to supply power.

Any ideas where this can be sourced? Or is there an alternative I can source from ebay/anazon etc?

Thanks in advance everyone, do appreciate your insights and perspective!

Do you have that card? If yes then go to local electronics shop which sells electeonics parts (resistors, caps etc) and ask them if they got something that could fit. You definitely dont need exact one from msi vortex. If you can source connector, making cable is easy.

I have no idea how to make cable lol, all i know is that I need them to handle at least 75w of power throughput.

That's why I wanted that part from a vortex then I can see how I would be able to power it with an AC adapter.

Its just a pin header connector with .1"/2.54mm spacing, each pin can carry at least 3A, times 3 pins for Vcc/Gnd and a rail of 19V and you end up with 3x3x19 = 171Watts, even cheapo headers will handle 75W with ease.
