    Hello all,

I have a 2 year+ old Dell Inspiron E1705. Got it from US some time ago, by far the best price performance ratio ... amazing machine. And Dell support is also very good.

But last spring I upgraded to video card to a 7900 GTX. Card worked very well until it started to BSOD last summer during some very hot days and when my friends stuck the back of the laptop (where vents are) to the wall while playing UT3.

Slowly but surely the video card has died out on me until this December when it got permanent bad memory sectors. The system still works but games will behave... wildly and crash.

I am looking for a new 7900 GS or GTX or an FX 1500M/2500M. I've been looking on ebay but there aren't any, just a few from on-line shops that ask an arm and a leg for one (over 300 dollars).

My notebook is out of warranty and I want to get it back in shape so I can resell it.

So if you have a spare 7900 go or FX 1500/2500M for sale, feel free to PM me. I am in UK now.

    Thank you.

You might have better luck posting this in the Want To Buy/For Sale forum.

What happened to your original card , sold it already ?
If you can’t find a good card for a reasonable price then sell it off for parts. You might be able to make more money by selling for parts.
    Screen ~ $150
    Processor ~ $150
    Motherboard ~ $150
Rest of the parts : Wireless adapter, DVD writer, Hard disk, Keyboard and chassis as parts ~ $150

The original 7900 GS that came with the lappy ... I've sold a long time ago over Ebay.

I am not sure if I can get more money by selling the parts, I would prefer selling it as a whole knowing it is in good working condition.

It is after all a decent configuration [email protected] Ghz, 3 GB Ram, 100 GB HDD @ 7200 rpm. etc. I think I could get 500 dollars on it, maybe around 600 or more if I fix the video card.

In case I won't find a replacement, I will have no choice but to take it apart and sell it pice by pice :(.

EDIT: Where did you get your signiture?
